What is your Internet Face Value? ® How does the world see you on the World Wide Web? How about your local community or social networking group? As an individual this is not something most people are concerned with. But if you are a business with something to sell then you might want to pay attention. Let’s start with your “Web Presence”, because everybody and anybody can have a website. If you have a business and are not on the web you are missing an incredible resource. Raise your hand if you do not have Internet access. I know, trick question, how could you be reading this if you didn’t. And you probably have not picked up the phone book since you got it and checked the local pizza shop listings for coupons. Let’s assume you have a website. Are people able to find you easily? Say you have a widget store in Conshohocken. If someone searches for widget store in Conshohocken and they don’t see your site in the results then there is a problem. I know of places that charge $50 a month to advertize you in some book and on the web. But what happens when you search then? You find pages that advertize them and everybody else they get paid by. Unless you can determine it makes you more than 50 extra $’s a month then it’s not worth it. Your bottom line is important and in this economy you can’t afford to waste petty cash.
